Kent County Warrant Records Kent County Warrant Records

Questions about an actual warrant belong with the office that holds it, not with this site. In Kent County that usually means the sheriff's records desk, the district court that set the case, or Friend of the Court for a support matter. Each of those offices keeps its own counter hours and answers for its own files. This page explains what a private reference site can and cannot help with, then lists the offices to call. Have a legal name and a case or ticket number ready before you dial. It saves time.

This Is Not a Government or Law Enforcement Office. This is a private reference site. We cannot confirm whether a warrant exists, clear or recall one, post bond, arrange a surrender, or give legal advice to anyone. For any of those, reach the issuing court or the sheriff's office directly.

Most warrant questions in Kent County route to one of the offices below. Match the question to the office that keeps the file, and call that one first.

  • Whether the sheriff's office holds a record: Kent County Sheriff's Office, Information Services and Records Division, 701 Ball Avenue NE, Grand Rapids, MI 49503, 616-632-6200. The records desk is open Monday through Friday, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., with a Wednesday midday window that runs by appointment. The records fax is 616-632-6217. The Sheriff's main line is 616-632-6100, and the records division page lists substations in Cedar Springs and Caledonia.
  • A bench warrant from a missed court date: the district court that set the case. The county court map lists all six venues: 61st District Court in Grand Rapids, 616-632-5700; 62-A in Wyoming, 616-257-9814; 62-B in Kentwood, 616-554-0711; the 59th in Grandville, 616-538-9660; the 59th in Walker, 616-453-5765; and the 63rd District Court, 616-632-7770.
  • A felony or family matter: 17th Circuit Court, 180 Ottawa Avenue NW, Grand Rapids. The clerk's office answers at 616-632-5480, general information at 616-632-5220, and criminal scheduling at 616-632-5056. The circuit court page lists the current judges.
  • Child support or a family contempt matter: Kent County Friend of the Court, 82 Ionia Avenue NW, Suite 200, Grand Rapids, MI 49501-0351, 616-632-6888, Monday through Friday 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. The FOC page covers appointments and payment channels.
  • Someone already in custody, or a bond question: Kent County Correctional Facility, 703 Ball Avenue NE, 616-632-6400. Inmate information is 616-632-6300, and the bond processing office is open around the clock. The county publishes an inmate lookup and a separate inmate bonding page that explains accepted payment methods.

A copy of a court record costs money. The 61st District Court charges $2 for the first page and $1 for each page after that on a plain copy, and $10 for the first page of a certified copy. The 63rd District Court charges $1 per page. Fees change, so ask for the amount when you submit the request. Grand Rapids police charge $10 for a local arrest-record check, which is not a warrant search.

If none of the paperwork names a court, the state's public case search is the next stop. Find the case there, note the court and case number, then call that clerk. The 61st District Court record request page shows the details its clerk's office asks for, and other courts ask for much the same: the case number, the item you want, your contact information, and whether you want to pick it up or have it mailed.
