Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or birth date typed into one of the search boxes goes straight to the third-party company that runs that tool. The provider processes the query and returns the results. We do not keep a log of what you typed once the search leaves our pages.
Messages and Contact Submissions
If you send an email, we hold onto the message so we can write back. It stays inside our team. We will not pass it to anyone outside the organization unless a legal obligation forces it.
Data We Gather Automatically
Every page load leaves a small set of technical details on our servers:
- The IP address your device is using
- Your browser type and version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you opened and how long you stayed
- The site that referred you, when there is one
- A timestamp for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
This site uses cookies, which are small files your browser stores. They show us which pages draw traffic and where readers lose interest. Analytics providers help us total that information up. You can block cookies in your browser whenever you like. Some parts of the site may behave differently if you do.
What We Do With This Data
The information we collect serves a narrow set of purposes:
- Running the site and keeping pages quick to load
- Passing your search request to the right partner service
- Seeing which pages help readers and which need work
- Finding and repairing technical problems
- Serving ads that may match your interests
No Warrant Data on File
This site does not host, build, compile, or sell any database of warrants or personal warrant records. What we publish is general guidance about where Kent County warrant records sit and how to reach them. That means the district and circuit court clerks, the Sheriff's Office Information Services and Records Division, the jail's custody and bond window, and Friend of the Court for support matters. Michigan has no public statewide warrant database, so we point readers to offices rather than to a search product.
We are not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act, and nothing we collect about visitors is turned into a consumer report or a file on any third party.
Third-Party Search Partners
The search boxes on this site belong to outside companies. Anything you type into one of them is handled under that company's privacy policy, not this one. Those partners set their own retention and sharing rules, and we have no say over them. Read a partner's policy before you submit a search.
Links to Other Websites
Pages here link out to court portals, sheriff's office pages, legal aid organizations, and third-party search services. Following one of those links takes you off this site, and the destination's privacy policy then applies to your visit. Read it before you share personal details.
Some advertising partners track activity across sites to target the ads you see. That tracking runs on their systems, not ours.
Who Might See Your Data
We do not sell personal data. A small number of recipients may see some of it:
- Search partners that handle the queries you run here
- Analytics providers that measure traffic and site performance
- Ad networks that place advertising on our pages
- Law enforcement or government offices answering a valid legal order
How We Protect Your Data
We use standard security practices to protect what we collect. No system connected to the internet is ever completely safe. We do what we reasonably can, but we cannot promise that a breach will never happen.
Users Under 18
This site is written for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. If you believe a minor has sent us data, tell us and we will remove it.
Your Data Rights
Michigan has no single consumer privacy statute that governs a private reference site like this one, so requests about the limited data described above are handled the way this policy sets out. Records held by public offices are a different matter. Access to those is governed by Michigan's Freedom of Information Act, MCL 15.231 et seq., and by the court-records rules that apply to Michigan courts. As a visitor here, you can:
- Ask for a copy of anything we hold about you
- Have inaccurate information corrected
- Ask us to erase your data
- Object to certain kinds of processing
Updates to This Policy
This privacy policy may change. When it does, the revised version appears on this page with a new effective date. Check back if you want to see how our handling of visitor information has changed.
